Nineteenth Annual Fanconi Anemia Scientific Symposium

The 19th Annual Fanconi Anemia Research Fund Scientific Symposium will be
held from 3pm, Monday, October 8 to Noon, Thursday, October 11, 2007 at The Westin Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.

 

CALL FOR LATE-BREAKING ABSTRACTS

Session topics for the Symposium will include presentations on the molecular and cellular pathogenesis, treatment, and prevention of the following:

Late-breaking Presentations: A limited number of abstracts of late-breaking results of exceptional significance may be accepted. Electronic submission of late-breaking abstracts will be open August 13 - 17, 2007. Click here to submit abstracts.


Translational Relevance: To tie research to clinical relevance, basic science researchers whose abstracts are selected for oral presentations are required to include one slide at the end of their presentations that addresses the potential clinical relevance of the research presented. Similarly, clinicians whose abstracts are selected for oral presentations are required to include one slide at the end of their presentations that addresses potential basic science research issues that arise from the clinical research presented.

Attendance at Meeting: Researchers selected to make an oral presentation are expected to stay for the duration of the Symposium and, particularly, for the Forum Conclusion: Planning for the Future final session.

Selection Process: A committee of scientists appointed by the Chair of the Fund's Scientific Advisory Board will review and select abstracts for oral presentations based on scientific merit.

Travel Expenses: The Fanconi Anemia Research Fund will reimburse researchers selected to make oral presentations for their reasonable travel, lodging, and meal expenses.
