Twentieth Annual Fanconi Anemia Scientific Symposium

The Twentieth Annual Fanconi Anemia Research Fund Scientific Symposium will be held from 3pm, Saturday, October 4 to Noon, Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the Hilton Hotel and Conference Center, Eugene, Oregon.

 

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Session topics for the Symposium will include presentations on the molecular and cellular pathogenesis, treatment, and prevention of the following:

Electronic Submission of Abstracts: Oral and poster presentations will be selected from abstracts submitted online. Abstracts may be submitted online from May 12 at 8am PST to June 20, 2008.


Late-breaking Presentations: A limited number of abstracts of late-breaking results of exceptional significance may be accepted. Online submission of late-breaking abstracts will be open August 11 - 15, 2008.

Translational Relevance: Basic science researchers whose abstracts are selected for oral presentations must include one slide at the end of their presentations addressing the potential clinical relevance of the research presented. Similarly, clinicians whose abstracts are selected for oral presentations must include one slide at the end of their presentations addressing potential basic science research issues that arise from the clinical research presented.

Attendance at Meeting: Researchers selected to make an oral presentation are expected to stay for the duration of the Symposium and, particularly, for the Forum Conclusion: Planning for the Future.

Selection Process: A committee of scientists appointed by the Chair of the Fund's Scientific Advisory Board will review and select abstracts for presentations based on scientific merit.

Travel Expenses: The Fanconi Anemia Research Fund will reimburse researchers selected to make oral presentations for their reasonable travel, lodging, and meal expenses. Funds will also be available on an as-needed basis to reimburse poster presenters for their reasonable travel, lodging, and meal expenses.
