FA Connect: FA Resource Swap

May 13th, 2021, 10:00 AM

ABOUT THE GROUP

The opportunity to share stories and swap resources can be truly therapeutic. Come prepared with a list of your favorite resources to share! Resources may include: financial, mental health/counseling, trauma, wellbeing, educational, case management, travel/lodging, housing services, utilities assistance, COVID-19 related, insurance, SSI/SSDI, MCR/MCD, health care/treatment/hospital resources, PGT/PGD and fertility, resources for children and teens, for adults with FA, for caregivers, individuals within the community that have been helpful to others, and many more.

At the end of the group we will ask that you email your resources to Suzanne Planck, Family Services Coordinator (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)), so that we can collate a list of resources to share with the entire FA community. If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like to share some of your favorite resources with others, feel free to email them to the Family Services Coordinator prior to group.

*You must be a person with FA, family member or caregiver to participate in this group.

GROUP FACILITATOR HIGHLIGHT

Suzanne Planck, FARF Family Services Coordinator, is a native Californian who moved to Oregon in search of a greener, more peaceful place to raise her family. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor’s in Nutrition, then worked a nurse and homemaker before she joined the nonprofit world. “I believe in working to improve the lives of others and to make a true difference. I’m inspired by true, active compassion; this compassion asks us to get uncomfortable and inconvenienced. I admire those that are willing to put the needs of others before their own desires and comforts.” Suzanne is driven by this compassion, working with the Family Services Director to support FAmilies by fostering connections, providing educational materials, finding resources, and planning meaningful meetings. A self-professed coffee addict, Suzanne loves spending time with her family and friends, serving the community, and being outdoors. Her perfect Sunday involves taking a nap after a big brunch at church and anticipating her kids coming home for dinner.
